Re: Photo-radar reduces speeding, so bring it on (Dec. 19)

Excellent editorial! All errant drivers should laminate a copy of it and keep it in their vehicles as a reminder disregarding the speed limits is costly both in human and financial terms.

However, I wish that in any future articles The Spectator would drop the word accident. The word accident describes an “Act of God,” and certainly an errant driver is not God.

The word accident removes the onus from the driver and absolves the responsibility of doing something awful.

Please use the proper word to describe the incident. Collision is a very emphatic word that truly describes the event.
