Novel idea for LRT funding

RE: LRT

Two of your recent articles emphasized the following: The Ford government to allow Metrolinx to begin buying land along Hamilton’s LRT line again. But the city will need to look elsewhere for top-up cash if there is a budget shortfall. And Premier Doug Ford takes a pot shot at Hamilton: ‘Why aren’t you closing these pot shops down?’ Ford says his ‘biggest frustration’ is illegal marijuana dispensaries operating in cities like Hamilton.

A compromise, perhaps a bit tongue in cheek?

Yes, Hamilton should close down the illegal marijuana dispensaries and reopen them as a city-run enterprise. The profits from it should cover the LRT cost overrun.
