RE.: NHL takes over Sabres – June 21

With somewhat of a wry smile I read this item. Remarkable that a NHL club could get itself so deeply into debt, which is greater than the dollar value of the club. Amazing.

This makes me think of an intriguing possibility. First of all, finally, would the governors of the NHL admit that they made a mistake by giving the franchise to Buffalo and not to Hamilton? Now that the club is being managed by the NHL until it is sold, would it make sense to bring it to Hamilton? Most of the team’s supporters come from Canada.

Perhaps a dream may become a reality after all these years. From a financial viewpoint, it would be the least expensive way to keep the Sabres alive. Along the way, Hamilton would get its due.
